EL CASTELL DE GUADALEST
El Castell de Guadalest |
 |
Take bus route 20 and land in this picturesque place, just 25 kilometres from Benidorm. The village, which has been declared a place of historical-artistic interest, has approximately 200 inhabitants, although it draws millions of tourists every year. It is located almost 600 metres over the sea level on the Guadalest valley wall, so that the weather is a bit colder than in Benidorm. You can visit the Castillo de San José ( a Muslim castle from the 11th century), the Castillo de la Alcozaiba ( same origin and century), the Casa Orduña (17th century), the Local Church ( 17th century, Baroque period) or the Prison (12th century). You’ll love the picturesque streets and spots, and a visit to one of its museums ( Microminiatures Museum, Nativity Scenes Museum, or the Microgiant Museum, among other) is really worth.
